THE MODIFICATION OF THE MINIMUM GROSS SALARY GUARANTEED IN PAYMENT
Starting January 1, 2020 the minimum gross salary per country guaranteed, not including increments and other additions, is:
- 2,230 lei monthly, for a normal work schedule of 167,333 hours per month, representing 13,327 lei / hour, both for Romanian citizens, for citizens of another EU Member State or for the European Economic Area or for citizens of the Swiss Confederation, as well as for foreigners (Decision No. 935/2019 in conjunction with Law 247/2018);
- 2, 350 lei per month, for a normal work schedule of 167,333 hours on average per month, representing 14,044 lei / hour for the staff assigned to higher education positions with at least one year of work experience in the field of studies superior (Decision No. 935/2019);
- 3.000 lei per month, for a normal work schedule of 167,333 hours on average per month, representing 17,928 lei / hour, for the construction field, for the period January 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019 (Emergency Ordinance No. 114/2018);
- Twice the gross average earnings for highly qualified foreign workers (Law 247/2018).
The term „foreign” refers to a person who does not have the Romanian citizenship, the citizenship of another Member State of the European Union or of the European Economic Area or the citizenship of the Swiss Confederation.
Highly qualified workplace is the workplace of a person who, for the purpose of pursuing a real and actual employment, for the benefit or under the coordination of another person, is paid and has the necessary appropriate and specific skills, demonstrated by higher professional qualifications.
Highly qualified workers are foreigners working in the Romanian territory on a highly qualified work place, with an individual contract of indefinite duration or for a determined period of at least one year, concluded with an employer on the basis of the work permit.
Attention!
- The minimum basic gross salary per country guaranteed in the payment in cash does not include bonuses and other bonuses;
- All rights and obligations established by law in relation to the minimum gross basic salary per country guaranteed in payment are determined by reference to the level of 2,230 lei of the gross minimum basic salary per country guaranteed in payment.
