Official Journal 60/27.01 - Law no. 11/2010 of 26.01.2010 of the State Budget in 2010

For 2010, the CASS quotas, stipulated by the Law. 95/2006, with subsequent modifications and completions, are as follows:
• 5.5% for the quota owed by the employee, stipulated in Art. 257 of Law no. 95/2006 (the PFAs are also included in this article)
• 5.2% for the quota owed by the employers;

 10.7% for the quota owed by the persons who are not obliged to insure and who insure themselves optionally;
• Persons who are employed but have the obligation to insure their health, according to the provisions of Law no. 95/2006, are required to directly communicate their income to the chosen insurance house ,on the basis of the insurance contract in order to establish and pay the quote of 5.5%;
• for migrant workers who keep the residence in Romania, the monthly contribution to the fund is calculated by applying the quota of 5.5% to the income generated from contracts signed with a foreign employer;
• people who have the obligation to insure themselves, other than those stipulated in Art. 257 and Art. 259 para. (9) of Law no. 95/2006, and who do not fall into the categories of people who benefit from health insurance without paying contributions, pay the monthly contribution of social health insurance calculated by applying the 5.5% quota to the gross minimum wage per country.

These quotas apply beginning with the income afferent to January 2010.
